Message from the President
Welcome Back Red Circle Families,
We’re just two weeks away from the start of our season, Saturday Sept 30th! The Board has been busy getting everything organized and ready for our players to return to Stronach Arena!
As every season there are some minor changes, with the largest having our U9 group play Saturday and Sundays similar to our U7’s. Say goodbye to the weeknight 5pm practices which we know is extremely challenging for many of our families to organize and opens up other recreation opportunities during the week. Additionally it allows our other programming to run earlier reducing the late nights as much as we can.
In the off season we were fortunate to be selected by the NHLPA to take part in their Dreams and Goals Program which provides equipment to those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to play. We have a number of our players and a new Londoner all the way from Ukraine who have been selected to take part in this great program. A very big thank you to Paul Doughty (Drew Doughty’s Dad) for bringing this opportunity and supporting our application. We look forward to the opportunity to work with Paul on this and future initiatives!!
Did you know… the Assistant Captain of the LA Kings started his playing career at Red Circle! Drew played with us for his first 3 seasons before moving into more competitive play and wow, look how far he’s gone!!
Our evaluation process will be similar to last year with an open skate, evaluations, and exhibition games to balance teams as best as we can. If you haven’t already, please download the Sportzhead app and create your account. Once your player is assigned to an evaluation team the schedule will populate.
Coaches, please watch for communications from our Hockey Operations team coming soon with the coaches meeting date.
We are so excited to get this season started and can’t wait to see all of the kids back at the rink. We hope you enjoy the 2023/2024 season!!
