The U9 Raiders put together an incredible weekend of hockey, earning the
silver medal at the ORHL Mid-Winter Classic Tournament in Brampton from January 16–18.
From the opening puck drop, the Raiders made a statement, battling through the competition with dominant performances and big wins! Their relentless pace, teamwork, and ability to control the game in all three zones set them apart throughout the tournament.
In the championship game, the Raiders once again faced the Barrie Slingshots in a highly competitive matchup!
The Slingshots held the lead for much of the game, but the Raiders battled back and tied it late in the second period.
Barrie quickly responded to regain the lead, only for the Raiders to even the score once again midway through the third period.
Just like their earlier matchup during the CAA Classic Tournament in November, the game headed to a tense 3-on-3 overtime.
In OT, the Slingshots were able to capitalize on a breakaway to secure the win and the championship.
Despite the result, the Raiders showed tremendous determination and effort, earning a well-deserved silver medal after an outstanding tournament run.
